For nearly four hundred years, skilled craftsmen have
been producing fine quality hand made paper at Wookey Hole
in the United Kingdom.
At the turn of the 20th Century, the Hodgkinson family employed
over two hundred workers to produce bank notes and security
papers for a worldwide market. Today the papermill produces
handmade stationery and watercolour paper to the same exacting
standards.

The mill produces bespoke paper for government documents
and royal occasions and is able to take special orders for
custom watermarks.
Visitors to the centre will be able to see the papermaking
process at first hand, and marvel at the rhythm of the vatman
and the coucher as they turn out fine handmade paper, just
as they did in Shakespeare's day.Wookey Hole is open all year
round. Contact us to find out more or visit the website.
